Say goodbye to the person who never accomplished anything. Say goodbye to the person who felt they never needed any help and had the answers to everything. Say goodbye to the close-minded person who never took the time to really stop and get to know others before judging them. Say goodbye to the person with giant walls up because they fear that showing emotion makes them too vulnerable. The old you is being thrown out of the window and it’s time to make a change. How many times in our society do we take a look at someone and automatically assume we know who they are because of how they’re dressed, how they look, the type of music they listen to etc.? The problem is we jump to conclusions about people before we’ve read the book. Instead of dealing with their hearts, we automatically dismiss the person who doesn’t fit our “criteria” when they could have been a valuable asset to our lives. We’re missing excellent opportunities here. How many lives could we affect if we took the time to truly get to know people? These relationships can be mutually beneficial, it’s not one-sided.

How often do we take the time to let others know that we love them? I was speaking with a friend the other day and we told each other that we loved each other. This was sincere, genuine non-sexual emotion expressed verbally. Why is it that we find it so hard to express how we truly feel towards people who truly care about? Too many people equate love with sexual emotion when many times it is the complete opposite. Our world is so sensitive towards the way we express love to one another. I tell my male friends I love them all the time, because I truly do. I feel it very necessary to express your love for people verbally so they can know how much they’re appreciated. You don’t always get the chance to show it. A reminder can go a long way! Honestly, I don’t think people hear those words enough. Let’s not miss the opportunity to brighten someones day by letting them know you sincerely care about them.

We are not in this world alone, so why do we act like it? People come in and out of our lives every season for reasons. We do not have all of the answers so where do we get this “know it all” mentality from? It’s okay to ask for help sometimes or even all the time if you need it. There is no way we could possibly get to where we want to be all on our own. There are people who are going to play significant roles in getting you there. When you reject positive help, you are prolonging your process. Embrace people who share your vision, do not make it harder for yourself by trying to bear all the weight. Life is all about learning so become sponge-like and start absorbing as much knowledge as possible. Every successful person has a strong team, start building yours now!
